Rodrigo Flores
Session 5: Beauty for your eyes only
Rodrigo Flores studied International Relations. His passion is collecting antiques, vintage and antique fashion, gastronomy and Mexican Popular Art. Parts of Rodrigo’s collections have been exhibited in the major museums of Mexico.
He has worked for El Palacio de Hierro since 1995, an upscale department store chain founded in 1888, as a buyer for El Palacio’s Antiques Gallery, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Shop, and the Christmas Division. He has also served as the Deputy Director of Fashion for the House of El Palacio de Hierro , and as a Home Fashion Trends Consultant and Director of Home Purchases for the chain.
Additionally, he has coordinated large museum projects for El Palacio de Hierro, including a groundbreaking exhibit celebrating of “200 years of Fashion in El Palacio de Hierro” in 2010, and “125 years of Style” in 2013, and more than 20 fairs of popular art and new Mexican design.
He has attended most of the Homeware trade shows around the world.
He also serves as a member of the voting committee of the Mexican Culinary Guide of the 120 best restaurants in Mexico, and of the Gentleman Magazine’s Guide of the 50 best restaurants in Mexico.
For the last four years, he has been in charge of the Experiences Department of El Palacio de Hierro, which aims to encourage customers to visit the stores more frequently by creating unforgettable and emotional moments for them that will make them ambassadors of the brand and thus promote a 360 degree experience.
